What to expect on this safari
Six days in Serengeti allow a slower pace and the option of staying in two wildlife areas when that improves the season-led itinerary. Comfortable lodging, longer sightings and a thoughtful route matter more than changing camps every night.
The plan below is a sample itinerary. Exact departure times, lodge names, park permissions and included services will be confirmed in a written quotation before you make a payment.
What the sixth day adds to a luxury safari
Compared with a five-day trip, the extra time may create a genuine rest morning, another full game drive or a chance to reach a second Serengeti region. There is no benefit in packing up every day simply because the itinerary is longer. We choose locations for the animals and the guest experience.
Day 1: Fly to your first Serengeti camp
Transfer to the departure airport in Arusha and board the scheduled flight to Serengeti. Meet your guiding team on landing and travel through wildlife country to the first camp. Depending on arrival, enjoy a short introductory drive before dinner.
Day 2: Wildlife drives from the first base
Spend the day exploring the habitats around your first lodge. An early departure gives opportunities for active wildlife, while a midday return allows time to relax. For keen photographers, a picnic lunch can extend time in the field.
Day 3: Explore more deeply
Use a second full day to follow resident wildlife and return to areas where interesting activity was seen. Your guide can adapt to preferences, from big cats and plains game to birds and landscapes. Avoid treating the day as a race for a guaranteed animal list.
Day 4: Remain in place or change region
Depending on season, either keep the same camp for continuity or relocate to a second Serengeti area. Moving north or south can be worthwhile for migration-focused visits, but a transfer also uses game-drive time. The final camp plan is chosen before booking.
Day 5: Full day at your chosen wildlife base
Enjoy another day with enough time for an unrushed drive, a picnic or an afternoon back at camp. A private guide can adjust timing to your interests; shared camp vehicles follow their operating schedule.
Day 6: Final morning and return flight
Make the most of the time before your scheduled airstrip transfer and flight. The actual morning drive depends on check-in time and the route of the aircraft. Coordinate onward travel only after the return schedule is confirmed.
How to evaluate the luxury quotation
Request the exact two camp names if you are moving, rooms and board basis, private versus shared game drives, included flight sectors, luggage limits and extras. A good quote explains where each night is spent and why.
What is included in the safari package
Air transfers, game drives, camp nights, meals and fees as included in your confirmed quotation.
The confirmed proposal identifies each paid-for service separately, including the number of nights, meal plan, transport basis and park fees.
What is not included
Flights not listed, travel insurance, optional activities, tips, personal purchases and premium services unless itemised.
Items not clearly shown as included should be treated as additional costs until we clarify them in writing.
Price and booking: what changes the quotation
The total depends on travel dates, number of guests, accommodation availability, vehicle arrangement, park charges and any requested flights or add-ons. We do not publish an invented fixed price for an itinerary with variable costs.
Tell us your dates, group size, starting location, preferred accommodation level and any children’s ages. We can then explain the options and quote the services you actually need.
Before confirming your booking
Please review the exact itinerary, travel times, nightly accommodation, cancellation conditions, transport details and any essential dietary or accessibility requirements. Wildlife sightings and seasonal movement cannot be guaranteed.
